Are you looking to save some extra cash and cut items out of your budget? Maybe you need to save some extra money so that you can afford a certain vacation.
Maybe you need to cut things out of your budget so that you can pay off debt. Whatever your reasons is, I’m sure there is at least one thing that you could cut out of your budget right now in order to save some money.
Here is my list of what you can most likely cut out of your budget.
That gym membership that you never use.
If you use your gym membership, then by all means keep it. However, if you do not, then finally get off your butt and try to cancel your membership. Hopefully you are not charged a fee to do so. If you are charged a fee, then you should try to weigh both the positives and negatives of canceling to see what you should do.
For example, if you have 10 months left in your contract and you currently pay $30 a month, then you will owe $300 for the year still if you continued to pay each month. However, if you canceled your contract, then you may be asked to pay $100 as the cancellation fee.
Some people would rather pay the $300 instead of the $100. WHY!?
Cut your daily lunches out.
Instead of eating out every day, you may want to try to bring your lunch at least a few days a week. And then if you can, try to do it every day. It’s really not as bad as everyone makes it sound.
I actually enjoy eating in the office instead of out because I can save time (I don’t have to drive somewhere and wait to order, and then wait for the actual food to arrive. Instead of paying $5 to $15 for your lunch out every day, bring your lunch which will probably just cost you a few dollars.
You might be thinking “I don’t have time to make my food in the morning!”
Well, if that is the case, then don’t make your food in the morning! You can prep your whole week of lunches on Sunday night. Many people do this. If you learn how to prep your food correctly, then your food will taste just as good on Friday as it did when you ate it on Monday.
Come back tomorrow for Part 2!
What could you eliminate from your budget? Are you going to eliminate it? Why or why not?
