Credit cards can have amazing benefits if you know how to use them correctly.
If you do not know how to use credit cards and you tend to rack up debt instead, I highly recommend that you stop reading this post and completely just skip over it. That is because even though the benefits of using credit cards can be great, it is not worth it to add debt to your life that is not necessary.
Anyways though, if you know how to use credit cards correctly, then please continue reading below. There may be some amazing benefits that you are missing out on that you may not realize.
1. Credit card rewards.
One thing most people know about but don’t actually use to their full advantage is seeking out credit card rewards. Many credit cards have great rewards programs in place. In fact, last year I earned a few thousand dollars in free cash and vacations just by using my credit cards just like how I normally do.
You can earn credit card rewards through signing up for a new credit card and earning a bonus, and you can also earn rewards by using your rewards credit card each and every month. Your purchases can add up quickly and translate into major rewards!
2. Payment protection.
Another reason for why I love credit cards is because they often offer payment protection. This is just in case a company won’t give you a refund even though you are supposed to get one, if a company accidentally charges you twice but won’t refund the money, and more. It can be a lifesaver, and I often use credit cards when I know I have to make a big purchase just in case something were to go wrong with the purchase.
3. Travel and rental insurance might be offered.
With some credit cards, they will offer travel insurance if you were supposed to go on a trip but had to cancel at the last moment. This can be a great thing, especially if it was a very expensive vacation that you were supposed to go on.
4. You don’t have to pay interest if you pay in full.
One common myth that people think is that they need to pay interest on their credit card no matter what. However, that is a myth and only a myth. If you pay your credit card balance in full each month when it is due, then you do not need to pay credit card interest. However, if you only pay a partial amount or just the minimum payment, then YES, you will need to pay interest on your credit card.
5. No foreign transaction fees.
If you often travel out of the country, then this may be a great thing about using certain travel credit cards. Many of them allow you to use them in other countries without paying any foreign transaction fees. This can save you a decent amount of money if you are out of the country on a vacation.
Why do you enjoy using credit cards?
