Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. I’m sure all of you have noticed. Decorations for the holiday have been out at all retail stores since the day after Christmas most likely, and you are probably seeing many advertisements about the holiday as well.
Some people go all out for Valentine’s Day, but we usually do not. We prefer to show our love to each other all the time, instead of a day where everyone else does the same 😛
Either way, we usually do something small for Valentine’s Day whether we like it or not. Here are different ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day frugally.
Buy grocery store flowers.
This probably isn’t considered romantic, but you can usually buy flowers at a grocery store florist for a little cheaper than at a florist. I’m not sure why this is, but I have noticed it!
Make an awesome dinner.
I would much rather eat a great meal at home than eat at a restaurant where it’s impersonal and probably overpriced. Cook your loved one a delicious meal that he or she won’t forget!
Go on a fun vacation.
When was the last time that you went on a fun vacation with your significant other? If you can spring for it, try saving throughout the year so that going on a romantic vacation doesn’t kill your budget.
Maybe you could also use some credit card points if you have been racking those up?
Make a scrapbook.
Scrapbooks can be a fun project, and I’m sure your significant other would love to receive one. If you have children, have them take part in the activity of putting it together as well.
Write a heartfelt letter.
Who doesn’t love to receive a letter about why your significant other loves you so much? Write one, NOW! 🙂
Make it a movie night.
Who doesn’t love a good movie night? I know I love having one! Rent/buy/Netflix your favorite movie, make some snacks, and snuggle up. You won’t regret it.
